MCA Fall Sports Alumni Update

Maranatha Christian Academy is proud to celebrate the achievements of seven Mustang alumni who competed at the collegiate level during the 2025 fall sports season. Representing programs across the country in golf,  soccer, and volleyball, these former Mustangs continue to display dedication, leadership, and excellence in their respective sports.

MCA celebrates their accomplishments and looks forward to following their continued success in future seasons.

Ava Chew – Crown College | Women’s Soccer

A 5’7 sophomore midfielder, Ava Chew wrapped up her second season with the Crown College Polars. Chew was a consistent presence on the pitch, appearing in all 21 games and serving a key role in controlling the midfield. Crown concluded the year with a 1–8–3 UMAC record and a 4–13–4 overall finish. Chew’s reliability and leadership made her an integral part of the team in her final season with the Polars.

Brynn Kolbrek – University of Northwestern–St. Paul | Women’s Soccer

Junior defender Brynn Kolbrek completed another strong season with the Northwestern Eagles. Standing at 5’4, Kolbrek contributed in 10 games for a squad that dominated conference play with a 9–1–2 UMAC record and an 11–6–3 overall season. The Eagles advanced to the UMAC Championship match, falling in a tight 0–1 contest against UW–Superior. Kolbrek’s defensive presence and experience were valuable assets to a highly competitive team.

Maia Marvel – University of Northwestern–St. Paul | Women’s Volleyball

Freshman defensive specialist/outside hitter Maia Marvel made her collegiate debut for the UMAC Champion Northwestern Eagles. The 5’6 newcomer saw action in four matches in her first season, contributing to a powerhouse team that finished 13–3 in conference and 23–8 overall. The Eagles were crowned UMAC Tournament Champs with a 3–1 victory over UW–Superior before suffering a tough loss in the NCAA Division III round of 64 to St. Olaf. 

Carson Moscoso – University of Northwestern-St. Paul | Men’s Golf

Carson Moscoso, a four-time Skyline All-Conference selection out of high school, competed on the course for the first time this fall with the University of Northwestern-St. Paul Men’s Golf team. He logged five rounds this year for the Eagles with a low score of 78 and an average of 81. The Eagles secured a 3rd-place finish in the UMAC Golf Championships. They also qualified for the NCCAA Men’s Golf National Championship for the fifth time in program history and finished 7th out of 9 teams at the event in Palm Coast, Florida, to end the season. 

Olive Rolseth – Western Colorado University | Women’s Volleyball

Senior outside hitter Olive Rolseth concluded her collegiate volleyball career with Western Colorado University. The 6’2 standout appeared in all 26 matches and was a major contributor for the Mountaineers, tallying 228 kills, 19 aces, 117 digs, and 18 blocks. Despite a challenging team record of 0–11 in RMAC play and 1–25 overall, Rolseth’s individual production and leadership remained a bright spot throughout the season.

Destiny Wiggins – University of Tennessee–Chattanooga | Women’s Volleyball

Sophomore right-side hitter Destiny Wiggins saw action in 11 matches for the UTC Mocs. At 5’11, Wiggins recorded 10 kills on 45 attempts, along with 6 digs and 10 blocks this season. Chattanooga finished the season 10–6 in the Southern Conference and 10–13 overall. Wiggins continues to develop both offensively and defensively and plans to return to an even bigger role next season.

Ashley Yost – Northern State University | Women’s Volleyball

Freshman defensive specialist Ashley Yost began her college career with Northern State University, appearing in two matches for a veteran Wolves roster. The Wolves had a solid season, finishing 11–9 in the NSIC and 19–10 overall. Yost gained valuable experience as part of one of the region’s consistently competitive programs.
