
The Maranatha Christian Academy Mustangs stepped on the court against the Nova Classical Academy Knights on Friday night for a Skyline Conference matchup. Maranatha entered the game with a conference record of 2-1 and an overall record of 8-3, while Nova had posted an overall record of 9-4.
There were 50+ kids in the stands to cheer on the Mustangs for Youth Night. Maranatha jumped out to a 10-3 lead with eight minutes gone in the first half. The Mustangs pressed the entire first half and went into halftime with a big 43-9 lead. They didn’t let up in the second half as their tough defense continued to force turnover after turnover on their way to a 76-21 victory.
Heather Sheehy led the team with 17 points, followed by Olivia Lanari with 15 points and 10 rebounds, Zaniah Hunter with 14 points, and Greta Eaves with 12 points.
The Mustangs improved to 3-1 in the Skyline Conference and 9-3 overall. They will be on the road on Monday to take on a 7-7 St. Croix Prep team at 7:00 pm.
