trap team
Maranatha Christian Academy Trap Team competes in the Clay Target League. This is a co-ed activity for students in grades 6-12 who are or will become safety certified. This is a fall season and spring season.
No experience is necessary.
Everyone must have a MN DNR Firearms/Hunters Safety Certificate. Those interested should pursue that immediately. The first part of the course can be done online. There are no tryouts. Everyone is welcome and gets to participate fully. We are looking for new team members.

Students register for Trap by going to https://www.claytargetscoring.com/ams/ and creating an account using Team Id: may664 League registration cost is $40.
Once the account is created, they will be put on the MCA team list where the coach can then invite them to complete the registration. Registration is officially open Aug 1st and closes Sept 9th at noon for the Fall League. Spring League information will be posted closer to the registration date in the spring.
The team shoots both competitions and practices at Beaverbrook Tri-County Sportsmans Club at 20500 Palisade St NE, East Bethel
The fall season is six weeks long from Sept 16th to Oct 24th. The team shoots twice a week on Mondays and Thursdays from 5:00 to 6:00 possibly 6:30 for a total of 24 games minus any cancellations for weather. Cost to the range will be $6.00 per game. Everyone will need 24 boxes of target shells at a minimum, a few extra is a good idea but availability is no longer an issue so they can be purchased as you go. This assumes that no days are canceled for weather. 2 3/4 inch shells #71/2 or 8 shot any brand. Walmart and Scheels are still the best though I have recently seen good prices at The Modern Sportsman in Coon Rapids.
Please note that this is a shorter season then in the Spring. 6 weeks instead of 9 and there is no separate Championship day. This makes it a great opportunity for new participants to get up to speed for next spring’s season and for seasoned shooters to stay sharp for next year.
