Our five MCA swimmers, Grace Okimosh, Claire Horejsi, Paige Krings, Adriana Mascarenas, and Mia Jones, have had a fantastic start to the season as they continue to rack up the wins. 

The girls defeated Coon Rapids a couple of weeks ago by a score of 94 to 80. Claire and Grace competed on the JV team with Claire finishing 2nd in the 100 backstroke and Grace finishing 4th in the 200 Free Relay. On Varsity, Mia finished 1st in the 200 Medley Relay, 2nd in the 200 Free, and 2nd in the 500 Free. Adriana finished 1st in the 200 Medley Relay, 2nd in the 100 Free, and 1st in the 200 Free Relay. Paige had an incredible day, finishing 1st in the 200 Free, 100 Free, 200 Free Relay, and 400 Free Relay. 

Earlier this week, the Orioles got another win, this time over Tartan High School. Osseo raced to the finish in the last event of the night, the 400 Free Relay. Adriana Mascarenas’ Varsity Relay Team was 9 seconds behind when the last leg of the relay dove in. They finished with an epic comeback, out touching the Titans at the wall by .21 seconds!

Paige, Mia, Grace, and Claire also had a great night. Paige finished 1st in all four of her varsity events. Mia had one of her best races of the season, finishing 1st in the 100 Breaststroke. Grace and Claire swam the 400 Free JV Relay together and finished 1st as well!

Osseo’s next meet is Thursday, September 26th at Centennial, followed by a home meet against Spring Lake Park on October 1.
