The Mustangs Girls Soccer team headed to Breck to take on the #1 seeded Mustangs in a Class A, Section 5A, Semifinal game on October 9. The Breck Mustangs put the pressure on Maranatha early in the contest and scored a goal within a few minutes of the first whistle. They continued to press and with the ball bouncing around in the box amidst a ton of player congestion, Breck was able to put two more balls in the net early in the first half.
Maranatha played exceptional defense the rest of the game and didn’t give up another goal until late in the contest with time running out. Breck went on to defeat Maranatha by a score of 4-0.
Head Coach Ian Sendi and Assistant Coach Morgan Diaz were extremely proud of the girls for their effort and determination after a tough start against on of the best teams in the state.
Maranatha finished the season with an overall record of 5-6-6. The Mustangs will only graduate three seniors this year and are looking forward to building upon their success in 2025.
