Our Maranatha girls swimmers capped off a great season with the Osseo Swim Team at Sections. Mia Jones, Paige Krings, and Adriana Mascarenas competed in the first round of sections and did well enough to advance to the finals on Saturday, November 9, at the Minnetonka Aquatics Center.
Mia Jones had a whopping time drop of 7.4 seconds in her 200 IM, earning herself a 14th place finish. She had a great race in the 100 Breast as well, placing 11th with another great time drop of 3.05 seconds. Mia’s 200 Free Relay ended up placing 7th.
Paige Krings earned a 6th place finish on the podium in her 200 IM with a 6.49 second time drop. She put up a good fight in her 100 Breast and ended up placing 4th with a big drop of 3.83 seconds. Paige’s 200 Medley Relay placed 5th, and her 400 Free Relay placed 4th.
Adriana Mascarenas swam the 200 Free Relay in Finals and placed 7th.
Grace Okimosh and Claire Horejsi also had a strong finish to their JV season.
Grace improved her time in all five of the events she swam. Her best relay finishes were the 400 Free Relay with a 15th place finish (5:25.77) and the 200 Medley Relay (2:59.73) finishing in 16th. Her best individual event was an 18th place finish in the 500 Free (8:17.83).
Claire’s 200 Medley Relay team improved their time and finished 16th (2:59.73). Her best individual event was the 100 Breast (1:46.06).
