The Mustangs are on a roll in 2025! Their last loss was six weeks ago, back on January 2. With coach Faith Johnson Patterson leading from the sideline and consistent play on the court, the Mustangs have gone on an eleven-game win streak and are beating teams by an average of 31 points.

Maranatha defeated the defending champs, St. Croix Lutheran, 64-54 back on February 4 and has since taken over first place in the Skyline Conference. Following that game, they posted wins over North St. Paul (AAA), Champlin Park (AAAA), and Concordia Academy (AA) to improve to 10-1 in the Skyline Conference and 17-3 overall. The Mustangs have an opportunity to win their first conference championship since the 2018-19 season when they went undefeated during their first year in the Skyline. To do so, they must win their final three conference games of the season against Nova, St. Croix Prep, and St. Agnes.

Maranatha has four players who are averaging double digits points per game this season, including Heather Sheehy (15.8 ppg), Zaniah Hunter (14.8 ppg), Olivia Lanari (13.7 ppg), and Greta Eaves (10.6 ppg).

The Mustang’s next game is on the road against Section 5AA opponent Holy Family on Monday, February 17. Maranatha is currently ranked #5, and Holy Family is ranked #7 in the section, so it should be a good game. Let’s fill the stands and get ready to cheer loud when the Mustangs come back to The Stable for their final home game of the regular season and senior night on Friday, February 21, where they will take on the St. Croix Prep Lions.

GO MUSTANGS!
