WELCOME COACH IAN SENDI

We would like to welcome Coach Ian Sendi to Maranatha Christian Academy. He will take over this fall as the head coach of our girls soccer program.

Sendi is from Kampala, Uganda. He has been coaching soccer for 18 years. He coached for 8 years in Uganda before moving to the United States in 2012. He served as the Maranatha Boys Soccer Varsity Assistant during the 2022 season and helped lead them to their first ever MSHSL State Tournament appearance. Sendi is a strong man of faith and is excited to be a role model and leader for the girls in this program.

COACHING EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS
2022-2023 | Boys Varsity Assistant Coach at Maranatha Christian Academy.
2020-2022 | Boys and Girls JV Coach at Highland Park High School.
2014-2024 | Manager and Coach for Football Club Minneapolis, the founding member of United Premier Soccer in Minnesota and one of the longest standing premier soccer clubs in the State of Minnesota.
2004-2012 | Head Coach for Bulls Sports Club, Great Warriors Academy, Kampala
League, and National Sports Academy.

COACHING QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION: CAF C, COERVER Coaching, and International Sports Connection.

PLAYING EXPERIENCE
Ian played in Uganda in the Youth Soccer System around Kampala throughout several levels. In 2009, he played for FC Kampala in the FUFA Second Division League before the team was promoted to the First Division where he continued playing from 2010 to 2012 before leaving the country for the United States. In 2010, he was honored to represent the Uganda U21 National Team in the London Olympic Qualifiers of 2012. In
the US, he has played for several clubs, chief among them being FC Minneapolis which plays in the United Premier Soccer League, a
National League with over 400 clubs countrywide.
