Maranatha Christian Academy

Matthew Shepherd is entering his second year as head coach for the Mustangs Boys Basketball program and eighth season as a part of the coaching staff. He led the boys to a Skyline Conference Championship during his first season in 2023-24. 

After finishing his playing career at North Central University, Coach Shepherd transitioned into coaching. He was on staff for a team that went 16-14 and finished third in the UMAC. After a one year stint at North Central, Shepherd began coaching at the high school ranks at Maranatha as a middle school coach. A year later, he moved up to the high school level where he spent the next four seasons coaching a mix of JV, C-team and serving as a Varsity Assistant.
