The Mustangs entered the Section 5A Tournament with an overall record of 6-9-1. Maranatha faced Metro College Prep in the quarterfinals, a team they had not seen since beating them 3-1 at Noble early in the 2022 season. 

The Mustangs got off to a quick start as they scored a few goals early in the contest against the Lions. The boys kept the pressure on and went into halftime with a 4-0 lead. 

The Lions continued to struggle getting anything going in the second half and the Mustangs went on to get the win by a score of 6-1. Jaydon Dimitrov scored 3 goals along with one goal each from JoJo Bartoloemeos, Phillip Hanchar, and Caleb Johnson.

The Mustangs will travel to play Cristo Rey in the semifinals this Thursday at 7:00 pm. The Pumas defeated the Mustangs 6-4 back on September 26. Expect the Mustangs to enter the contest with a determined mindset and make a push to advance to the finals.
