
The Mustangs traveled to St. Agnes on Monday night knowing that a win would secure the top spot in the conference. The girls were focused and determined to get the win with head coach Faith Johnson Patterson providing the game plan to come out on top. Maranatha jumped out early and went into halftime with a 29-21 lead. They continued to pressure the Aggies and got the win with a final score of 54-43 to secure their first Skyline Conference Championship since 2019. The Mustangs finished the regular season with a 13-1 conference record and an overall record of 21-3. They are averaging 65 points per game and only giving up 35 points per game as they head into section play.
The girls will get first and second-round byes in the Section 5AA Tournament. They will face the winner of #5 Southwest Christian and #12 Howard Lake-Waverly or #13 Metro Schools College Prep on Saturday, March 1, at 7:00 pm at the Stable. Here is the ticket link for the home game on Saturday.
