The Maranatha Christian Academy girl’s soccer program kicked off its 2025 season with a strong performance from the varsity team, earning a 2-0 victory over Delano in their opener. Senior forward Tori Van Essen led the Mustangs, netting both goals to secure the win. The team then fell 1-7 to Watertown-Mayer but gained valuable experience early in the season. 

On the Junior Varsity side, the Mustangs also matched up against Watertown-Mayer, where they fought a challenging game and lost 0-5. The JV players are using the early matches as key opportunities to develop and strengthen their play for the rest of the season. 

Maranatha will return to their home field on Tuesday, August 26, for a matchup against Hutchinson. JV will take the field at 5:00 p.m., followed by varsity at 7:00 p.m.
