The Maranatha Christian Academy Varsity Boys Soccer team opened the season with a tough, 2-4 loss to Hope Academy. The Mustang’s two goals were scored by Junior Emmanuel Yared and 7th grader Boli Alabi. The Mustangs then faced even tougher competition in their Watertown Mayer game, losing 0-4.
Maranatha bounced back with a hard-fought 1-0 win over United Christian, powered by Yared’s goal and a shutout by goalie Noah Schirmes, to secure their first victory of the season. The Mustangs now look to carry that momentum into their next matchup at Washington Tech Magnet on Wednesday, August 27, at 7:00 p.m.
